At Rancho de las Reinas, I have been offering lessons in horseback riding and horse care to Bay Area residents since 2010. My lifetime of experience with horses has focused primarily on my passions: riding and showing in western disciplines and performing equine bodywork. Over the last 5+ yrs, I have taken a deeper dive into the energy, intention, communication, and connection with the horse. It has proven to be an gentler, safer, more gratifying path yielding a stronger bond.

If you choose to take lessons here, our small barn setting offers a quiet private setting focusing on your individual goals so you can enjoy interacting with horses at the perfect pace.  However, in addition to on-site work, within the Bay Area radius, I am excited to offer horse owners and their horses my services at their location, improving relationships both on the ground and under saddle. Outside of the Bay Area radius, we can work together via zoom. I have taken this path with my instructors all over the world and it has proven invaluable.

I am also a certified equine massage therapist bringing with me the technical importance of proper biomechanics, as well as the importance of releasing tension to increase range of motion and promote longevity.  Riders will benefit from integration of equine bodywork into the lessons.  Likewise, horses will benefit from massage, red light therapy, BEMER therapy, and kinesiology taping.  Handling and training should always enhance our relationship with our horse. 

My most recent endeavor is working toward certification in barefoot trimming. When you have beloved horses facing very devastating situations, it propels you to dive deeper. I am loving the journey. Understanding the hoof, the nutrition, the whole horse is essential when you hit these roadblocks.
